This Chinese style cabbage is a mix of select Japanese heirloom or dento yasai varieties; Matsushima No. 2, Kyoto No. 3 and Aichi. These varieties are a staple in many parts of Asia. NC Napa has a barrel shaped head and is suitable for intensive planting. The tender leaves have a mild, sweet, cabbage flavor and compliment other vegetables when prepared cooked, pickled, or fresh. The leaves can also be dried for winter use.
Growing Tips
Transplant in late Summer or early fall. Space the plants 12" apart tightly in a grid to help prevent weeds.
