(65 days) Bright vibrant orange flowers on 18-24” plants. Our orange calendula has some variation selected for orange color containing a mix from Orange King, Erfurter and many orange varieties from Europe and Russia. Petals can be used to make a natural dye, or even fed to chickens to keep egg yolks extra vibrant. Calendulas are known for many health benefits, but they are most recognized for effectiveness in healing skin problems, such as wounds, burns, insect bites, eczema, shingles and skin ulcers, to name a few. Calendula plants and flowers can tolerate light frosts.
Growing Tips
Broadcast seeds outdoors after last frost. Calendulas prefer well-drained average soil. Water regularly, keeping leaves dry. Remove spent blossoms frequently to prolong blooming.
