Orca Bean

Orca / Calypso / Yin Yang beans are so eye-catching people seem to fall in love at first sight. This unique shelling bean has beautiful half black and half white seeds. Heirloom bush bean that is widely-adapted for baking and soups. Early yielding plant with 4-5 beans per pod. Beans will double in size when cooked. Great flavor and creamy texture. The plump beans in short, round pods mature early on compact, heavy-producing plants.

Growing Tips

Direct seeds in loose soil well after danger of frost in rows 12 - 18 inches apart. Plant 5-10” apart. Plant height is 1-2 feet. Let mature until buckskin color and harvest on a dry day.
