This is an open pollinated population corn selected for orange color and high carotenoid content adapted to our northern climate. Plant breeder, Zachary Paige has blended a few orange colored varieties together to create this population. Varieties include Dziekuje; a dark orange corn gifted from plant breeder Frank Kutka which originally came from Argentina, Otto File; a prized polenta corn grown in Italy, and various orange colored landraces from USDA GRIN and Mexico. Great for corn bread and grits. Sweet, rich flavor.
